WNY Symposium on Music in Our Schools

WNY-symposium-2Monday, February 29

Kleinhans Music Hall, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM

How can we help our children achieve success in the classroom, in their communities and in our interconnected world? Through the universal language of music! Join BPO music director JoAnn Falletta and leading music and education professionals in this convening of educational leaders where we will come to a greater understanding of how the study of music fosters social, emotional and academic growth regardless of a student’s cultural or economic background.

Experience first-hand how music is a natural vehicle for building teamwork and leadership skills, cultural literacy, academic achievement and crucially, an engagement in learning. All children deserve to be given the tools to become productive community and world participants. We believe music is that powerful tool.

We welcome attendance of administrators from Western New York public schools.

There is no charge, but we do ask that you make a reservation by contacting us by February 22.

Contact Robin Parkinson, Director of Education & Community Engagement at [email protected] or (716) 242-7808 to reserve your place.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as lots of music and inspiration!
